Hi I'm Ben

I like to think I'm a sensable person, I am an aspiring productive member of society and I am a mormon.

About Me

I'm 21 years old. I was born in Oklahoma to a family of 6 cool kids (I'm 1 of the 2 middle kids. I share the spot with my sister Hannah!) and 2 of the best parents you'll ever meet! I'm a mut, but a quarter Wichita and Cherokee Native American and proud of that. My family has moved around a lot but for the most part I've grown up in Maryland. I love food! particularly Fresno Tri-Tip with tators! my friends and family, good music (I play guitar and drums so mostly good acoustic stuff but almost anything), most movies, most sports, some reading, and most of all sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with my friends! There's nothing more rewarding than being a part of positive changes to the life of a friend. Seeing them gain more happiness through Jesus Christ and His atonement.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both members. Mom is a convert, She was baptized when she was 12. Dad grew up in the church in Oklahoma. I was born into the church and baptized at 8 years old. I've had to develop my own personal testimony. At 17 years old I followed the counsel and promise given in Matthew 7:7-8 and moroni 10:3-5 in the Book of Mormon; ask, seek and knock or in other words, pray, study, and apply with a sincere heart and real intent having faith in Christ. I read the Book of Mormon all the way through, prayerfully and recieved an assurance to my heart of the reality of the events in the book as well as of the divinity of Jesus Christ. My testimony is reaffirmed again and again as I strive to obey God and develop faith in him through service to others. I love the church and I know its led by the savior of the world, Jesus Christ the way he intended it to be led explained in Matthew 16:17-19 and Ephesians 2:20 through revelation to his servants the prophets and apostles.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by looking for and taking oppurtunities to serve other people. A big part of that was my full-time mission, where I served others by inviting them to accept and act on the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

No. We believe that everyone on the Earth lived with God as a family before this life, that we are all God's children and we each have a responsibility for the welfare of others. Show more Show less

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

We live a lot like most people. we'll share the culture of whatever nation we're united to, We go to school, we have careers in many different fields. You can see that in the "I'm a Mormon" section of the site where there are videos of Mormon individuals and families from all over the world. We have families, some small some big: 1 mom, 1 Dad. We have a regular diet. We celebrate the holidays of our nations as well as birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, and all those things. Most of us dress and act normal. We have hobbies. I love Music and sports. Like most christian families out there we pray regularly, study from our scriptures regularly and participate in our church responsibilities and activities. We have a unique focus of family. We help each other keep God's commandments and get through hard times. We teach, serve, and learn from one another and the scriptures. We are professional about our service and work hard to change lives. We strive to be examples of good citizenship in our communities and invite all to accept the gospel of Jesus Christ. Why is family so important to Mormons?

Because family is so important to God. Why do you think God intoduces Christ as His "only begotten SON in whom I am well pleased" and not something more formal like my servant, the Christ? Why in the scriptures is God referred to as "The Father" more than any other title? why is it that naturally we come into this life into a family, whether functional or not? Families are ordained of God. Agency and human nature is what may cause us to believe other wise. Family ought to be our foundation of education in this life. I've moved around a lot. I've attended many different schools and one thing I've learned is that it is hard to focus on my goals if I don't have a social network providing acceptance and unity. A support group I can lean on and be there to be leaned on at school. It's a miracle that God has provided that support group for the important lessons in life. If our families aren't what they could be, we can choose individually to be an example and a friend to them as far as possible. practice the principles of repentence and forgiveness. Understanding that our families are meant to be eternal helps us to not allow the small things to obstruct our relationships. Show more Show less

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

No. Many of the values we live by can be found in any political party. Members of the church are urged to fully participate in political, governmental, and community affairs to be good citizens but are left to their own judgement in all matters. Show more Show less
