Hi I'm Xio

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mother of two and military wife. Life as a military wife and mother is not easy. It has a lot of challenges but my faith helps me through it all. I love helping others and really enjoy children. I home school my son who is now in 4th grade. My daughter just graduated from HS (also home-schooled). I love learning new things and traveling. I'm planning on going back to school and I'm also preparing myself to run a 1/2 marathon.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I love this restored gospel! I was not always a Mormon. I am a convert and have been in the church for 13 years. I had searched all religions known out there but not one, including the religion I was born into, made me happy. I joined the church after a visit to NJ. My aunt and uncle had been members for over 30 years. My mother had recently converted after her visit and an uncle of mine as well. I had told them I would NEVER become a member of this church but still went along with them to a church activity .There I sat and it seemed like everyone was so nice and so familiar even though I had never met them (but my family). My mother asked me where my 6 year old daughter was-take it, I'm overprotective of my kids- and I did not know. I was so involved with the conversation and so comfortable with the people. I felt like I was home among family. My mother asked me the one question that would for ever change my life..."Where else can you have your daughter play freely and not have to worry?" I went to church with them the next day and heard a lady share her testimony with the class. I cannot remember what she said but I wanted what she was feeling and what I had felt the day before at the activity. I wanted to be happy! 1 month later I got baptized. I am truly happy because I have the restored gospel in my life. I love my Heavenly Father and His Son, my Savior Jesus. I love the Gospel and all that it has and continues to teach me. I love the Scriptures because I can find answers to anything I need. I love this church and know for sure that it is the true church. I know we have a Prophet in these modern days. Why would we not have one? He loves us as much as He loved the people in ancient times. We have a Prophet to guide us in these days. I am so grateful to my Father in Heaven for that question my mother asked me 13 years ago and for that sister whom I do not know but made a difference in my life. I am grateful to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I love children and have the best job in the church. I am the Primary leader for our branch. I enjoy planning classes for them and enjoy planning activities. I also visit sisters and always try to lend a helping hand when I can to others in need. I enjoy getting together with my family every Monday night and know that we are learning about the Gospel together. We love doing service projects and have planned a lot for the rest of the year. Serving others makes us happy. Whether it be talking to others or raking their yard, visiting elderly homes or baking cookies to bring to neighbors, we feel happy and accomplished as a family. We also have scripture study daily and make sure we pray as a family. I am really trying hard to live the gospel the way our Heavenly Father has commanded us to do.
