Hi I'm John Ferrin

I grew up in Utah and Mississippi, but not at the same time. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the husband to my dream wife. I am the father to 3 wonderful boys. I am finishing my dental residency in periodontology in 2014 I really really love running. My favorite thing to do is just hang out with my family. I lost a brother in Iraq and I look forward to seeing him again after I die. (yes, families can be together forever after this life)

Why I am a Mormon

When I sincerely read the Book of Mormon the first time I knew this Church was true. I felt good. I wanted to be better, more kind, thoughtful, gentle, humble and obedient. It drove me to change things in my life that were not in line with the Saviors teachings. It gave me strength to make those changes. I read and ponder it still everyday for the same reasons I did so long ago. The reason it is so powerful: it is full from cover to cover of the testimonies of Christ. That is why the official title of the book is "The Book of Mormon Another Testament of Jesus Christ.” It is true. But just like my moms homemade carrot cake, you won't believe it until you try it yourself.

How I live my faith

I enjoy serving the men in my local congregation, or ward. I have the opportunity to sometimes teach lessons during our Sunday meetings. Each time I do I always feel strengthened by their faith. In my calling or position in the ward I get to visit with them in their homes on a weekly basis. I visit two or three of them and their families a week. We discuss the struggles of the economy on their families, the latest sports games, what fun family activities are going on, etc. We discuss life in general. I always share a scripture and again, I feel strengthened by them as they share their thoughts and feelings about the Gospel. I really enjoy this service. I hope to make even a small difference in theirs lives, because they surely make a big difference in mine. I mean that.
