Hi I'm Kasper

I'm a Chef, I love to travel & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello, I'm Kasper! I live in Copenhagen, Denmark, where I work as a chef. I am currently self-employed as a personal chef, but I also teach and volunteer in a soup kitchen! I've spent the better part of the last 10 years working with food, with a little break to serve as a missionary in the United States and in the Danish Army. Food is my true passion and I love to have constant development in my cooking! I can’t say I have a lot (or even any) signature dishes because I easily get bored with the same things. I enjoy developing and perfecting new dishes, I enjoy taking old things and making them new and exciting! But also trying things that are completely new! If I ever make a rule in my kitchen, it’s so that I can break it! I also post pictures of my food on Instagram: kasperskitchen! My ethos with food is: Less is more! Besides cooking I love travelling and seeing new things, tasting new food and experiencing new cultures! I am a big believer in the old saying: To travel is to live!

Why I am a Mormon

I feel lucky to have been raised in my faith. But as I got older, specifically when I was in my early twenties, I had to figure out what I believed! One day I realized that the lifestyle I was living was not bringing happiness into my life. I felt like there was something missing, even though I couldn't pinpoint exactly what that was. After trying to follow the teaching of Jesus Christ and making some major changes in the way I lived my life, I was able to feel the power of forgiveness that comes through our Savior. It is the best decision I have ever made and I have not looked back since! One of the central beliefs that I value the most in my faith is the ability for families to be together forever. Jesus Christ gave the apostle Peter the power to bind things on earth, so that they would be bound in heaven. And that same power was restored to earth in these days! I happy to know that I can be with my family forever, because Heaven wouldn't be Heaven without my family there.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to follow the example of Jesus Christ and trying to be the best Christian that I possibly can be. I believe that continually trying to improve oneself is the foundation of the gospel of Jesus Christ! That is why I invite others to come unto Christ, and to be perfected in him. In my experience, the best way to do this is by serving others and helping those that I meet every day. Some of the ways Ive done this by volunteering at a soup kitchen every week, while I lived in London, where I get to cook food for some of the homeless people in London. I've felt closer to my Father in Heaven as I’ve served his children. I also try to spend my holidays going to locations where I can help people while seeing and experiencing something new! Christ taught us that we should love our neighbors as we love ourselves and that is what I am trying to put into practice. I know that I am not the perfect example and I've got a long way to go before I even dream of calling myself perfect. But I can say that I'm perfect in trying!
