Hi I'm Melanie

I grew up in Texas. I am studying to become a nurse. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am working towards a second bachelor's degree in nursing. I currently work part time and attend school. I love to cook and bake. I can often be found browsing the internet for new recipes to try. I love reading blogs. When I am not reading blogs about cooking, I am in the kitchen creating something delicious. Well, most of the time my creations turn out delicious....other times, not so much. :) My husband and I are enjoying our first home. We love to watch movies, read books, play board games, and go out to eat together!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints my whole life. I am a faithful member of the Mormon Church today because I have gained and nurtured my own testimony of its teachings. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ, and that its teachings are true. I know this because I have read it many times throughout my life, and as I have prayed, the Holy Ghost has testified to me that its words are true. I know that Joseph Smith truly was called of God to be a prophet, and that through him the fullness of the Gospel and the Priesthood were restored. I know it is by following the example and teachings of the Savior that I will truly be happy. I know that family relationships are meant to last forever, and that through the power of the Priesthood, families can be sealed together for eternity. For me, being a Mormon means that I know where to turn when I experience trials in life, and I know that I will be with my family forever.

How I live my faith

I have participated in a number of different areas at church. Most recently, I taught a Sunday School class for 3-4 year old children. I love their enthusiasm and energy! I regularly visit with other women in my area to get to know each other and to share uplifting Gospel messages. I like to be involved with service projects that benefit the community, as well as with local elections.
