Hi I'm Landon

I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. I am now a helicopter pilot living in Memphis, Tennessee.

About Me

I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. Growing up I became active in baseball, basketball, and my most favorite, which was swimming. I am the youngest of a family of six, including myself. I didn't grow up with many siblings in the house with me however, because by the time I was born most of my family had moved out and was going to college. After I graduated high school I served a mission for the church. I went to the Dominican Republic for 2 years. My time in that country made me who I am today. After serving those people and learning their language I became a completely different person. I found out who I was and what I am made of, I found out what my truest desires are. The main desire is for me to have a family here on this Earth. I know that through the gospel of Jesus Christ and through the power of God (priesthood) which has been restored to us we can have our families not just for this life, but in the next life as well. I know with all of my heart that families can be eternal. That is the greatest joy one can come to feel, and what I desire all who read this to come to know.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I have searched, pondered, desired, prayed and listened to know what direction my Father in Heaven would have be go. I am a firm believer that EVERY church teaches loving doctrine that helps the believer come closer to his or her Savior, however I know that God is not the author of confusion. I know that He would not establish thousands of churches with different doctrine to confuse His children. He has given us a way through prayer, that we may know by the power of the Spirit, what is true and what isn't. I prayed to know for myself, and I received the answer by the Spirit. A beautiful, powerful, loving, overpowering peace in my heart that I will not deny. I know I received the answer that this church is the church of My Savior, and I know that God knows it, and I will not deny it.

How I live my faith

I wasn't ever the "best" at living the principles of the gospel in my early years which includes high school. I grew up in the church and at times I would question some of the teachings and some of the commandments that were being taught to me. After serving my mission and really feeling the love of my Savior as I lived His commandments I began to understand the reason for why we do the things that we do, and why we don't do certain things as well. Our Heavenly Father loves us, and has given us the blessing of being able to choose for ourselves the path we wish to take. I follow the teachings of the Prophet and the council given to show my love to my Father in Heaven and to my Savior who sacrificed everything for me.
