Hi I'm Aubrey

I'm six feet tall. I'm an outdoors enthusiast . I'm a History buff. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 23 year old senior in college looking to be a high school history teacher. I love reading, seeing movies, running, hiking, snowboarding, cooking, and swimming. I love to travel and visit new places. I have been to many of the 50 states, Mexico, Canada, France, England, Costa Rica, Mozambique, and Chile. I am one of five kids and love everything about having a big and close-knit family.

Why I am a Mormon

Life can be hard and many go their whole lives wondering, where did I come from? why am I here? and where am I going? There are answers to these questions and once one comes to know their purpose they develop self worth and can better themselves and those around them. I am Mormon because the gospel of Jesus Christ answers these questions and provides me with more happiness, joy, purpose, and hope then anything thing else. I know that when life gets hard, there is a bigger picture and I don't let the little things get in the way, but carry on knowing that there are good things to come.

How I live my faith

I have found more happiness and purpose in my life by coming to know who God is, what my relationship is with him and what he expects of me. Through daily prayer and open communication with God I know that he is listening and answering my prayers and this shows me that he loves me. Through reading the Bible and the Book of Mormon I better understand what I need to do to be happy and to follow God completely. Through attending Church every Sunday I have come to learn more about God and how he sent his son Jesus Christ to die for me. I learn that I have made promises with God and if I keep them and obey I will return to live with him after this life. I have learned as a mormon missionary living in Concepcion, Chile for 18 months that serving others brings you closer to God and that brought me more happiness than I could have possibly imagined. I have learned that everything I do in life should be a reflection of my love for God and all he has done and will do for me. By living the commandments and doing the simple things consistently everyday I learn to love God more and follow him better. This had given me purpose, love, wonderful family and friend relationships, and helped me to know where I came from before this life, why I am on this Earth, and where I will be going when I die. My faith is not a something only when I am in distress, it is what I need each and everyday as I strive to follow God and his will for me.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Aubrey
When the missionaries come to your home, they will share with you about how you can come closer to Jesus Christ. Their message is simple and intended for everyone, no matter what educational background, ethnicity or social standing. The missionaries will first try to get to know you and your family so that they can make you feel like they are there to help you and serve you, that is their purpose. They will share with you the earthly ministry of Jesus Christ and how he is the literal son of God who died for each person individually so they can be forgiven of their sins and return to live with God again, after this life. What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

Aubrey
God is our Father. He created us in his own image just as it says in the first book of Genesis. It is crucial to understand that God is our loving Heavenly Father because than we know that we are his children that he is devoted to help and care for. We pray to God and he listens and answers our prayers. He does this because he loves us and like any parent he wants what is best for us. When we understand who God is and what our relationship is with him, we better understand ourselves and our purpose here in this life. Show more Show less

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Aubrey
LDS missionaries are young men and women who come from all over the the world to share an important message with all who are willing to hear and accept them. They proselyte or walk around looking and asking people to listen to their message because they know that what they have to share is something that will benefit everyone they come in contact with. They know that no matter ones race, ethnicity, or socio-economic background the message they have to share is for all people. These missionaries are motivated to love, serve and help all those around them. Anciently Jesus Christ and his apostles proselyted and preached their message to all who would hear, and these missionaries are doing to the same, sharing Christ's message. Show more Show less
