Hi I'm Joshua

I'm a writer. I'm giving my all for the Lord. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Currently, I'm serving as a missionary for the church. I like to read fiction, and write it, too. I enjoy the martial arts and dance. I'm a fan of video games (the good ones, at least), and can take just about anybody at Super Smash Bros. I'm going to college (well, after my mission) to become a writer, and I hope to get some of my novels published. I've got five brothers and two sisters. And, I'm engaged.

Why I am a Mormon

I decided to be a Mormon at the crossroads of my life. When I was about seventeen, I found that I could either continue with the church and find out where it would take me, or just live my own life and see how good I could make it. I decided that if I wanted to know what was best, that I should ask God. He had given me real answers before, so I knew that he was there and that I could trust him. So when I asked if the church was true, and if it could help bring me happiness, I received an answer from God that I could not deny. Ever since, I've been trying to live the gospel and do all I can, and it has made all the difference in my life.

How I live my faith

Right now I'm serving as a missionary. I've left my family and friends, and everything that was familiar to me, so I could come to a place where few people speak english, so I could serve them and God. I'll be here for two years. I'm constantly trying to find those that need help in their lives, and help them find the peace and joy that the gospel can bring. I sincerely desire everyone's happiness.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Joshua
The temple is a very sacred place. It is a place where the world is shut out and we can really feel close to God. Because it is so sacred, we need to have shut the world out of our personal lives, so that we don't take it into the temple. In that way, it remains sacred and uplifting for all who enter, and the spirit of the Lord can dwell there freely. In the temple, we make sacred promises with our heavenly Father. These promises are very sacred and personal, which is why we do not talk about them outside of the temple. Show more Show less

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Joshua
The Book of Mormon is actually from several different authors. It was written by prophets who were called of God anciently, who lived in anceint America. The records these propehts kept were abridged by a prophet later, whose name was Mormon. That's where the name of the book comes from. His abridgement was hidden by his son, after he wrote some of his own prophecies, so that the wicked people at the time could not get it and destroy it. This happened in about 421 A.D. In 1823, the prophet Joseph Smith was led to this record and was later able to translate it by the power of God. After that, it was published in english. Show more Show less
