Hi I'm Marcus.

I am a husband, father of six, futures trader, and jazz musician. I am a mormon.

About Me

I am a retired hedge fund trader living in coastal New England. As a jazz musician, arranger and composer, I have taught concert band and jazz band as a volunteer in our local schools. I enjoy keeping up on developments in macro and international economics. I still dabble in the futures markets when the financial world goes crazy.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been blessed in life well beyond my expectations. Every good thing which has ever happened to me can be directly or indirectly linked to my membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints. Each trial I have faced has been made easier, each success more joyful, as a result of my church participation. And then there is my family. Our children have risen above the temptations around them because of their knowledge of truth taught at home and at church.

How I live my faith

Faith for me is a daily walk which includes prayer, scripture study, and listening to the voice within which encourages good. It includes weekly attendance at church. These are where peace is found. Perhaps my greatest gospel joy is found in sharing the gospel with friends, and serving weekly in our church temple. These activities have given me the opportunity to help others benefit from the same teachings which have blessed me and my family.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Marcus.
When I am out to dinner with my wife, she frequently orders something new which she finds absolutely delicious. Her first thought is to say, "Honey, you need to try some of this!" Perhaps this explains why we proselyte. This restored gospel of Christ is so delicious, that we all feel to exclaim: "Try this!" Show more Show less
