Hi I'm Phillip

I like soccer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married. I got married on July 25, 2009. I grew up in a large family of 6 children. I have 4 brothers and 1 sister. I am a student about to enter my senior year as a management major. I enjoy being outdoors, and enjoy playing sports. I have played soccer most of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 14, I attended a youth conference put on by my church. This was a weekend event that included religious speakers, classes, service projects and dances. Leading up to, and separate from this event, I had been praying, with little success, to know if the doctrines taught in this church were what God would have me follow. I felt for several months, as I read from the scriptures and prayed about this question, that I was not being heard or responded to. As I attended this event, the same question to know the truthfulness of this gospel weighed heavily on my mind. On a Saturday morning, after finishing up at a service project, cleaning out gutters and doing landscape work for an elderly woman, I sat pondering in the back of the van. The spirit came to me at that point and witnessed to me, for the first time, that this was Jesus Christ's church, and that the teachings were true, and they would bless my life if I chose to follow them. That was the beginning of my testimony. I have tried to follow that prompting and follow the teachings of Christ. When I have, I have felt God's blessings in mine and my family's lives. These moments, along with answers to other prayers have helped me to remain assured that what I received in the back of that van was revelation from God. In short, the reason I am Mormon is because I asked God if I should be, and was willing to follow whatever answer He gave. The answer that I received was yes!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing small things that help me remember Christ in my life. I try to read from the scriptures each day, and pray multiple times a day. I share my testimony with my wife and we strive to engage in discussion about spiritual topics. I attend church weekly and serve the members there. I try to find opportunities to serve others throughout the week.
