Hi I'm Brandon

I grew up in a place called Idaho. And yes, I do love potatoes. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town and I wouldn't have it any other way. I got a big family and they are the best. I'm a tractor driver, a linebacker, a point guard, a fire fighter, a college student, a geo-cacher, and a missionary. I enjoy being active, but still like to chill...for days.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I Mormon? It's because saying "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints" takes way too long to say and I tend to mumble my words when I say it. So say "I'm a Mormon" is so much easier and less complicated! :) Actually I am blessed to have been raised as a Mormon. The more that I've learned and the more that I've experienced has helped me realize how great it is to be part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It isn't just a church, or a local congregation, but it's an organization of Christians that do their best to become true disciples of Jesus Christ. It's great! Being Mormon has given me strength and has increased my faith to where I can have confidence in anything that I do. It is great to be Mormon. What more can I say?

How I live my faith

I'm just a normal guy trying to do what's right and be happy. I like to be involved with the local schools and in the city recreation department. I feel that sports and other activities are great for the youth and I do my best to help out in those efforts.

What is a ward/stake/branch?

Brandon
A ward is a local congregation that is based on geographical boundaries within a town, or a specific area. Each ward has a Bishop which is responsible for all the temporal and spiritual needs of the individual members of the congregation. A branch would be a smaller congregation, but operates very similar to a ward. A stake is a collection of wards/branches and is lead by a Stake President. You might notice that the church is very organized in everything that it does. Afer all, God is a God of order. Right? Show more Show less

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

Brandon
Thomas S. Monson is the Lord's prophet on earth today. Isn't that great! I'm confident that whoever takes the time to hear his words and his counsel will understand that he is called by God. It's incredible. So try it. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Brandon
I love the Bible. It is truly the word of God. I have found so much guidance from the Bible and I know that it is indeed Holy Scripture. The Bible is a foundation piece to the doctrines and principles taught by Mormons. Show more Show less

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

Brandon
The Word of Wisdom is a health code that the Lord has given us to keep our bodies healthy and strong, as well as keeping our spiritual-selves in check. The Word of Wisdom is basically the "food pyramid" that we learned about in grade school - except it was a revelation received nearly 200 years ago. It also teaches us to avoid certain substances such as alcohol and tobacco. I've seen this commandment to be a great blessing in my life. We were given bodies for a reason - why not take care of them? Show more Show less
