Hi I'm Jenessa

I'm a graphic designer, and a fashion enthusiast. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently graduated from University in December 2010, and I currently work at a manufacturing company as a graphic designer, and I love my job! I served a full-time service mission for a year and a half in Rome, Italy, and I love the people there with all my heart...the food isn't so bad either! I'm a fan of fashion, reading, good design, movies, and going out with my friends. Right now, i'm learning a big life lesson in moving out into the big world on my own, getting my first job out of college, and all in all discovering what it's truly like to be an adult.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of the church hasn't always been easy, but it has always been worth it. I was born into the church, and raised by parents with strong moral values, and testimonies of the Savior that they shared with me. Their examples of living Christ-centered lives is truly what has helped me to understand what it means to be a good person. But there came a point in my life as a teenager when I wanted to know for myself what the truth was, because I began to be more independent and think for myself. I asked a lot of questions, and the more questions I asked, the more I searched for the answers instead of just making up my own conclusions. As I searched the scriptures, and prayed to my Heavenly Father in faith, I learned why I am a member of this church. Because my Heavenly Father loved me so much that He sent His son to sacrifice his life for me, and to feel every pain from sin or whatever else that I have ever felt, and I have learned through my religion how to have a personal relationship with my savior, and how to use that sacrifice in my life daily through repentance and change. I've learned a lot about different religions over the years, and the more I learn the more I realize how important it is to have a church that not only teaches the truth of how to live the "gospel" (a christ-centered life), but that also contains a living prophet, who give us counsel from God, to help us live our lives more christlike every day as the world around us tells us to do otherwise. I KNOW that I have a savior. I know that He sacrificed everything for me. I know I have a father in heaven who loves me and wants me to return to him with my family. I know that the book of mormon contains a message that is meant for this time to help the world remember their savior. I know that Joseph Smith saw God and Jesus Christ, and that He had an incredible mission that made it so that we could have the priesthood again on the earth. I can't even begin to explain how much I know this to be true...it's something incredibly personal. Something I have discovered through faith, prayer, and reading the scriptures.

How I live my faith

I go to church weekly...I have helped out by playing the piano, teaching sunday school, and serving a full-time mission.
