Hi I'm Benjamin

I'm a husband and a father. I'm a Software Engineer. I love to learn. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband. I'm a father. I love spending time with my wife and children. Seeing my children learn and grow has brought me great joy in life. I'm also one of twelve children, all from the same parents. I'm a software engineer. I love to design and create software that helps others in their jobs and in their lives. I love to learn. I was home schooled through elementary school. When I was young, I had a hard time learning to read, no matter how hard my parents tried. Perhaps because of those facts, once I did learn to read, I began reading as much as possible. Through this I gained a desire to learn as much as I can, about as many subjects as I can.

Why I am a Mormon

While I grew up in a family that was Mormon, I was a teenager before I found out for myself the doctrines taught by the Church are true. When I was fourteen, I was approached by a Church leader who asked me some pointed questions about my own personal belief. Based upon my answers, he challenged me to find out for myself if the Book of Mormon is true. I took that challenge to heart and began a process of study and prayer. I read the Book of Mormon through twice and prayed countless times before I got my answer. I was sitting in the chapel of the church building one Sunday morning, praying for an answer. The answer came as a a feeling of joy and peace, as well as thoughts flowing through my mind. I later recognized that the thoughts and feelings I experienced intensely at that time, I had been experiencing throughout my study, however, I had not taken the time until that day to notice and reflect upon what I was experiencing. Since that time I have tried to study and learn as much as I can. Through my study and through confirmation from the Holy Ghost, I have come to know for myself that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of the World, and that only through Him can we return to live with our Father in Heaven after this life. I have also come to know that the Book of Mormon is true, that Joseph Smith was called as a Prophet of God, a witness of Jesus Christ, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. I also know that you can come to know, in the same way I did, that these things are true. I am grateful for that leader who helped me start on the path to learning for myself.

How I live my faith

The knowledge of what is true should give everyone a desire to act upon that knowledge. Knowing that Jesus Christ is our Savior motivates me to follow His example. I try to help anyone I see who is in need. I spend time each day praying and studying about the Gospel. I continue to study and learn as much as I can. I try to teach my children what I know, and try to help them learn for themselves. I have spent most of my adult life teaching others about the Church. I have taught both youth and adult classes in the Church. I try to help others come to know for themselves the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I want to be like the leader I had as a teenager who started me on the path to finding out for myself. My Faith also guides me in my profession. I try to be forthright and honest in all my dealings with others.
