Hi I'm Kim

I grew up in southern Idaho as a non-Mormon. I moved to northern Idaho for college, made some Mormon friends, & joined the Church

About Me

I'm a convert to the Church. I joined in August of 1996. I married my best friend in 1999 (also a convert to the Church). I love reading, especially young adult fantasy. I'm a creative person. I love working on craft projects. I knit, crochet, quilt, dabble in photography, make handmade birthday cards, and like to experiment with cooking--especially dessert. Yum! I'm a stay-at-home mom to my son who was born in 2008. It's an exhausting job, but he's only going to be a little guy for a little while and I don't want to miss it.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it makes me happy. Living what I learn at church really does make me a better person, wife, mother, and friend. And that is really what our Heavenly Father wants for each of us--to be happy. The world tells us we have to buy things or party to be happy, but I've found that's not really true. Happiness comes from our relationships--our relationships with our family, friends, and our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I strive to be a good example (especially to my son) in all that I do. I try to be honest with and respectful to everyone, and I really try to be patient with everyone. I read my scriptures and pray, and in those prayers I often seek inspiration on how I should live my life. I also plan service projects in my community for the women in my ward to work on. We've made dress-up costumes for the Head Start program and collected food for the local food bank.
