Hi I'm Cody

I'm from Gilbert, AZ. I'm a husband, a friend, and a board sports enthusiast. I'm also a Mormon, and that's what makes it all work

About Me

I'm a little bit of a workaholic, I absolutely love what I do every day. I get to help small businesses grow quickly by helping them fix their follow-up marketing. I am married to a wonderful girl that reminds me about what is truly important in life. I'm a son and a brother to a family of eight. Somehow, we are all still friends and live within about a half mile of each other! When I'm not at the office, I love to unwind at the lake. I'm a boardsport enthusiast, and I love to get out behind a boat on the wakeboard. When it's too cold to go to the lake, I can be found on a skateboard or taking a leisurley cruise around the neighborhood with my wife. We currently don't have any kids as we were married just a little over a year ago, but we plan to start our family soon. Family is a big part of our life, and we can't wait to have our own little family one day.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the church in a wonderful large family. I was the second oldest, and for some reason I felt the need to push the boundaries quite a bit. As I went through high school, I found myself getting caught up in the wrong crowd and leaving some of the things that I had been taught behind. It wasn't until I had left some of these teachings behind that I started to feel differently. I started to feel unhappy. My senior year of high school was a turning point for me. As I sat in some of the church sponsored classes at school (Seminary), I learned of something called the Plan of Happiness. I had always heard about this in the past, but it had new meaning to me. As I started to study out God's plan for us that is taught in the Bible and the Book of Mormon, I realized what I needed to change in my life. Heavenly Father has a very simple plan where he asks us to pray, read the scriptures, attend church, and learn of his Son, to ultimately lead us back to him. As I was trying to find 'hapiness', I was forgetting the true source of it all. With the help of people from the church, I started trying every principle from scratch again, almost scientifically, to prove the truthfulness of them all. I took time to pray and develop a relationship with God. I used the Atonement to repent of my sins and grew a love of Jesus Christ. I studied the scriptures and was taught truly how to be happy by the Holy Ghost. I'm a Mormon because at the end of the day, I'm happy. I know that Heavenly Father is happy with me too, and that is a great feeling to have. I know where I came from, where I'm headed, and what I need to do to be happy along the way. That's why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

The church is really cool and allows everyone to have a calling. A calling is a voluntary responsibility to serve in a certain capacity within the church. I am involved with helping others to learn more about the restored church of Jesus Christ. On a weekly basis, I meet with people in our neighborhood that would like to share this message with other friends around them. I can't describe how cool it is to see someone share this message with their friend and help them come to church and change their life. There is a difference that you can visually see, a light in that person's eyes that comes on as they get closer to God. It helps strengthen my testimony of the Plan of Happiness and also the person sharing the message. It's one of the greatest callings in the world.
