Hi I'm Janelle

I work hard; I play hard; I pray hard. I'm a teacher; I'm a mother; I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm a single mom who has learned to completely trust in the Lord. Life threw me a curve ball a couple of years ago, and although I was devastated, the Lord helped me pick up the pieces and has blessed me and my children immeasurably. Everything has come together in remarkable ways. I have a solid testimony of the healing power of the atonement of Jesus Christ. It's is miraculous. I also love my Savior with all my heart. He is my rock. He has seen me through tough times, and continues to sustain me as I raise my four children, serve in the church and community, and work as an elementary school teacher. I thoroughly enjoy life and I've always had a passion for learning. Some of my mottos for life include: "Work Hard, Play Hard, Pray Hard," "Onward and Upward," "Carpe Diem," and "Enjoy the Journey." When I'm not teaching or cleaning my house, I enjoy playing basketball, tennis, volleyball, racquetball, softball, road biking, swimming, composing music, reading, writing, mowing the lawn, grocery shopping at Costco, playing outside with my kids, running, traveling, hiking 14ers, and visiting with friends and family. I consider myself a pretty simple person as evidenced by my favorite foods: cold cereal and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. My life is good. Very good. I'm grateful for my knowledge of the plan of salvation and my membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It has made all the difference!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it brings me peace, happiness, and joy! The gospel of Jesus Christ is glad tidings. There is no heart ache, no pain, no sickness, no disappointment that the atonement of Jesus Christ cannot fix. Without the gospel, there is no lasting peace, happiness, and joy.

How I live my faith

I serve in the largest, most wonderful, women's organization in the world. I'm the secretary. I help organize service projects, reach out to women who are struggling, and teach classes and workshops in the community. My coworkers know I'm different. They've never seen someone sober have so much fun! I think that is the comment I get the most as I live my faith. I have people wondering how I can have such a good time and be so bubbly and happy without drinking or doing drugs. I'm often introduced as the lady who's high on life. I guess I try to live my faith so that others (especially my children) know exactly what I stand for.
