Hi I'm Eric

I like food and goooooood music. I'm serving a mission in Florida. I speak Spanish. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm from Colorado, but right now I'm serving in the Florida Jacksonville Spanish-speaking Mission! Before coming out on my mission I went school in Utah and studied Biology and pre-nutritional science. I am obsessed with everything that is food and hope to make a career out of it! I love the opportunity that I have every day to come so much closer unto Christ by helping others to do the same. I come from a big family with eight brothers (that also served missions) and two sisters. I have a lot of dreams and hopes for my future, but for now all I have to worry about is helping other people to receive the blessings of living the restored gospel and accepting Christ as their Savior.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe in Jesus Christ. He is the most important part of my life and I know that I would be nothing without His Atonement. I was baptized when I was 8 years old and have definitely had some rough patches in my life since then, but I know that I can be forgiven for my mistakes because of His gospel. I believe the Book of Mormon is another testimony of Jesus Christ - convincing evidence that the Church of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth. I have received many answers to my prayers and have felt the truth of the gospel through the power of the Holy Ghost. I believe that Joseph Smith was called to be a prophet of God. I feel like being a member of this church has simply taught me that through honesty and change we truly become the best we can be. I love being a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I am a missionary for the church: a servant of the Lord. For two years I will be anywhere from Ocala, FL to Beaufort, SC finding people to teach the message of the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I do my best to show the Lord that I love him by obeying His commandments and I know that I am blessed because of it. I hope to help others to experience this same joy!

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Eric
There are numerous physical blessings that come from abstaining from harmful and addicting substances like tobacco and alcohol, but those blessings are only a tiny portion of what God has in store for His children. This commandment, called Word of Wisdom, is more than a "health code," but literally a commandment given for the world to the prophet Joseph Smith. When we obey the commandments of our Father in Heaven he blesses us with eternal life if we stay strong to the end and repent when we do fall short. I choose to obey by not drinking coffee, tea, alcohol, smoking cigarettes, and basically keep my body a place where the spirit can always reside because I know that it is what God expects of me and of all of His children.
