Hi I'm Lenna

I'm a Mormon. I'm a Mom. I love to bake.

About Me

I'm a mom of young adult and teenage children. I love sewing, reading, baking, children, and being with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the LDS church when I was sixteen. I had some wonderful friends who were great examples. I was the only one in my family at that time to be baptized. It wasn't an easy choice. I felt I was going against my mothers wishes, but I knew it was true. I prayed and knew the Book of Mormon was true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet. One evening I was trying to decide if I should be baptized or wait until I was 18. I knelt down in prayer and asked Heavenly Father to please help me to know what to do. I immediately opened my scriptures to 3 Nephi 11:33, in the Book of Mormon, "And whoso believeth in me, and is baptized, the same shall be saved; and they are they who shall inherit the kingdom of God." I knew then I had to baptized. It still wasn't easy, but I knew I was doing the right thing. I knew that I wanted to be sealed in the temple and have a family for eternity. It was bittersweet being sealed to my husband. I was doing the right thing, but also hurting my parents. They would not see me be married. My parents have since been baptized, my brother, and one of my sisters. My father passed away several years ago. My mom was sealed to him, and my brother, sister and myself were sealed to them. I wouldn't change anything! My life is happy. That doesn't mean that I don't have trials, but I know to whom I can turn for help and guidance, I know the plan of salvation, and I know that families truly can be together forever.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be like Christ. I try to serve in my community by helping in my children's schools, I work with the children in our church, I volunteered at a hospice facility. I try to teach my children to do good and be good to others.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Lenna
Reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible and other scriptures brings us closer to our Savior Jesus Christ, and helps us to understand what Heavenly Father has planned for us. We can learn how to pray and how to receive answer to prayer. We can learn how to live and treat other people. I feel closer to Heavenly Father and want to be more like Jesus when I read the scriptures daily. Show more Show less
