Hi I'm Rex

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of three and a husband to the most wonderful wife. Life is crazy to say the least; aside from parenting and being a husband I attend full-time school. It is difficult to attend school later in life and it is harder still to find the balance between family life and scholastic studies. Although it is hard I completely love the time I get to spend with my children and wife. As any parent can say there are days that I just want to pull my eye-brows out and curl up in a corner. I would never do that but as we learn and grow we understand that we need all the hair we can get and that placing love before anger always brings better results. I love the gospel and I am proud to be the kind of child of my Heavenly Father to influence the lives of my family by my good decisions.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because it just makes sense. I have grown up living in this gospel. That does not always mean that life is going to be planned out perfect; I still had many trials and errors I had to go through to gain a testimony of what it is to live a "mormon" life. I think what changed my attitude from mediocre to sincere was when I met and married my sweetheart. Life was an endless selfish battle for what I wanted in life. Meeting and marrying my wife was what allowed me to stop and think of others. I am still learning even after many years of marriage, but that is what life is about. Being mormon doesn't mean that I have everything easy. In fact, I think that being a mormon that was not so strong to being a fairly strong mormon makes it so much harder. I have new trials every day I wake up and try to make good choices. I choose to be a mormon because what I am, who I am, and what I hope to active and stand for progressively moving up day by day is what I want. I always wanted to be the guy that you didn't have to wonder if he was honest. I always wanted to be the guy that others relied on because he was dependable. I can say that after all the choices I have made--and as long as I continue to make those choices--I am that man! Why am I a mormon? I just makes sense; nothing else comes close.

How I live my faith

My wife and I just moved to Idaho from Arizona and are in a situation that is unique; we do not know hardly anyone here as we left most of our extended family in Arizona. This has actually been a blessing as we have to get outside of our comfort-zone and open up to those around us. We are able to go to church, meet new people, and start new relationships which is great. Idaho is such a beautiful place to live and we are trying each day to recognize that beauty and do all we can to keep it clean and beautiful for years to come. As a member of our new church family here we also find joy in serving and getting to know others by visiting them in their homes. I particularly enjoy making up some treats and handing them out to little hands which will probably get my name remembered for good by the children and not so good for the parents (cookies are good...not near bedtime!) What a marvelous time to be alive as I can learn, teach, and grow alongside other men and women who enrich and uplift me as I hope I do the same for them.
