Hi I'm kathy

i'm a mom of 4, I have terminal cancer, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have Multiple Myeloma cancer, and I will die soon. I have four adorable children, my son just returned from a 2 year mission, which was kind of hard for me to let him go to. But we were blessed immensely while he was gone, and I am still here to see him return home. When I was young my parents were killed by a drunk driver, i learned young that families can be together forever through the teachings of this gospel. I a married to my husband, we are celebrating our 24th wedding anniversary this year and just got back from a cruise to celebrate, something I have wanted to do my entire life. I love my husband and my children very much.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the gospel that the LDS church teaches. I love the Plan of Salvation that tells us that families can continue as a unit it the hereafter. I know that I will live with my husband again and that we will live together forever. With all of the crazy things going on in the world today the LDS church has a lot to offer to keep us safe, and grounded and happy. It is nice to be able to raise my children in a happy loving home, where they know they are safe and can turn to us for help and guidance, that we learn from the LDS church. I have learned so much in the past 3 years while dealing with my illness, and I know that my kids will be just fine when I am gone. They have a great dad, and lots of loving caring family and friends, and best of all they have the Gospel Of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I love working with the youth, I was a teacher of the primary aged children, i have served in the nursery, and most recently i worked with the teenage girls, that was probably my favorite. I can't believe the yucky stuff they have to deal with on a daily basis, and that is in a nice middle class area. They are so much stronger in their faith than I was at their age. I love to work with the other ladies in our church doing Humanitarian, and volunteer things, I make hats for cancer patients, and it's so fun to sit and visit as we work away at our busy little projects.

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

kathy
The best way to teach this is by example. Plus we keep very open lines of communication. I start discussing it while they are young, and as they grow up, they are comfortable discussing things, and we have some pretty interesting discussions. Show more Show less
