Hi I'm Briggs Kellogg

I'm a grueling crossword puzzler, speed knitter, guitar player, antique collector, indie music enthusiast, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

How does one label such a fine young chap? Briggs is an adventurist in the art of blood pumping. He would rather be standing on an artificially made piece of fiberglass, soaring down a mountain side, than be caught playing the 'ol patty-cake, time waster with his comrades. Briggs could be found expounding on his knack for snowboarding, wakeboarding, surfing, and long boarding. He is bent on dwelling for a time in the lofty mountains of Northern America. Do not be dismayed by his audacious avocations, Briggs loves a deep-rooted chat about the rousing playground called Wall Street. Briggs has been known to ease up by the placement of a guitar upon his lap and luxuriating in melodies of ensembles that divulge the true inner thoughts of the composer. He has a zeal for bands such as; The Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Brett Dennen, Death Cab for Cutie, The Middle East, Weezer, The Smiths, Bon Iver, to name a few. He also delights in taking those he dates, to the most secluded and unknown spots to go wind gazing. Briggs is currently acquiring a knowledge in the languages of Portuguese and Spanish and is expounding his grasp on distinct cultures in Alabama and Belém Brazil. He also enjoys acting just a little bit smarter than he actually is...

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I Mormon? Good question. I am Mormon because I know that this is the church that Christ established. I know through prophets the Lord reveals many great and helpful things that bless our lives. Living the lifestyle of a Mormon is difficult, and no one does it perfectly. However, striving for constant progression will bring blessings. The commandments are in place to benefit us. I know that as you and I strive to be as Christ we will feel ourselves come closer to God and see how our faith and actions has uplifted our lives and the lives of the people around us.

How I live my faith

I try my best to live my faith through my actions. I know that having faith, and actually doing something with it are two different things that work together. I have a favorite verse, James 2:18, which states that a person who truly has faith in Christ as their Savior will show it through their actions. I strive to look for the best in everyone. I know that we are all children of our Father in Heaven. I want to show and treat everyone I talk to with love, as Christ would. I live my faith by knowing that I am human. I mess up. I know that as long as I strive to live the commandments and love my neighbor I will be able to grow and make an impact in the lives of others. I have such a strong desire to share the message of Christ's gospel and how much he truly loves each and everyone of us.
