Hi I'm April

I was raised by a blind mother. Now I am a mother. I am a Mormon.

About Me

My father converted to the LDS church after he married my mother, who was a member. I was raised in the church and was married in the Logan Temple. After my second child was born I made to the decision to finish my degree and graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor Degree in Inderdisciplinary Studies in History and English Literature. My full time job is being a mother to my two children whom I love dearly. I love hiking, cross-country skiing, baking, and being with my family. My favorite author is Agatha Christie and I love watching movies based in the Victorian Era.

Why I am a Mormon

Before my parents had children my mother became totally blind, due to diabetes. Through her faith of knowing that Heavenly Father does not give us trials that we can not overcome she was able to raise her four children despite her physical obstacle. After I graduated from high school I became less active and as the expression goes I had to fall before I could get back up. It was because of my mothers example of strength, the knowledge that I had a Heavenly Father who loved me and a Savior who had suffered and died for my sins that I was able to get on my knees and ask for forgiveness. Through this experience I gained a testimony that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the church of Jesus Christ. I know that we can be strengthened by following the commandments, listening to the Prophet, and serving others. I love knowing that my family can be together forever even after death

How I live my faith

I am happy to serve as a primary counselor in my ward. In primary we teach the children about the gospel, sing songs, and have fun learning about the scriptures. I have always loved serving in primary because of the loving countenance of each child. The Saviors love shines through each and everyone of them. I share my testimony by making sure I live a life that is pleasing to my Heavenly Father. I love and serve my neighbors, regardless of their beliefs. And I try to help those in need.
