Hi I'm Carl

I live in Gilbert, Arizona and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a beautiful family and I believe that the teachings of the LDS church - gospel - make me a better father and husband, and make raising children easier. I also believe that the gospel provides answers to some questions that many people have, such as "why am I here?" and "what is the purpose of life?"

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS church, but through the years I have found that simply being raised in a religion does not ensure that you will continue to be faithful and active in the religion - including the LDS church. I believe that commitment is an ongoing process and requires desire and effort. I have found that as I put forth the desire and effort, I am blessed by a loving Heavenly Father. The blessings I have received are numerous, and the comfort provided by my knowledge that I am trying my best and that any shortcomings can be overcome with the help of Jesus Christ help me with my commitment. I testify that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. Joseph Smith translated this book - he did not write it! I have been inspired, enlighted, and comforted when I read the Book of Mormon, and I testify that the Book of Mormon changes lives! I also testify of the importance of modern prophets. Put aside any prejudices you may have, and think about how great it is that Heavenly Father would provide someone here on earth that receives revelation that will make you a better person. As you listen to the prophets and follow their counsel, you will be blessed.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to follow the counsel I have received from prophets and leaders, and applying that counsel in my home life, professional life, and in my associations with friends and neighbors. I try to be kind and courteous, and also offer service to all - not just people with whom I attend church. The LDS church has set aside Monday nights as Family Night, and we have been asked to set aside that night for teaching gospel principles, counseling with one another, and improving our family relationships. I believe this has improved the relationship my children have with one another, and it has also provided me an opportunity to share my beliefs with my children.
