Hi I'm Elder Larkin

My name is Levi Larkin, I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints In Federal Way, Washington.

About Me

I am currently serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Washington, Federal Way Mission. I was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin and adopted by my parents at a very early age. I was raised in Las Vegas, Nevada for most of my life until my father was called to serve as the Mission President over the Washington, Seattle Mission. After our mission in Seattle we moved back to Las Vegas and that is where I finished high school and received my call to serve in Washington. I love playing the saxophone and was in band my entire high school career. Music has always been a passion of mine and I feel the Spirit the strongest when I'm either singing or playing my instrument. Music has blessed my life in so many ways and I hope to be able to share that with the people of Federal Way, Washington.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a raised in the Church. I was baptized when I was 8 just like all of my friends. At first it was customary because my parents were both raised in the Church as well, and I felt like it was my obligation to be baptized as well. I did not feel the the Holy Ghost flood over me when I was baptized. The first time I really felt the Holy Ghost and knew the Church was true, was when I first stepped into the baptismal font in the Las Vegas temple. I was participating in Baptisms for the Dead and when I walked into font and into my dad's awaiting arms I felt the Holy Ghost pour over me. I knew that what I was doing was right. I continue on because I know that this Church is true and that I can be with my family forever in Heaven. I know that when I go to Church that I am where I am supposed be, and when I partake of the sacrament that I can be forgiven of my sins. I am so happy to know that I can be forgiven and that God will forgive me and love me endlessly no matter what I do. Amen

How I live my faith

As a missionary I have the opportunity to not only teach by talking to those around me, but also by teaching through example. I strive every day to be exactly obedient to the commandments of the Lord, and although I fail in doing so, I know that the Lord values when I try my hardest to keep His commandments. Our religion is really about serving those around us, and there is no better place to fully devote yourself than in the mission field. I am so grateful to have this opportunity to be on a mission full time for two years serving those around me.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Elder Larkin
It is our duty as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to go out and preach to the world. While there is much truth and happiness that can be found in many other churches around the world, we know that we can add on to that happiness and bring an extra sense of peace to peoples' lives.
