Hi I'm Jim

I'm retired. And I'm really good at retirement. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a farm boy from Oregon. I went to college, joined the Marine Corps, got married. Now, over 40 years later, I'm married to the same lovely wife and we have 2 great daughters and 5 grandchildren. I'm retired. I love sports, both as a spectator and as a participant.

Why I am a Mormon

In my early 20's I believed in our Heavenly Father - but my personal life was a bit reckless. I was introduced to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and quickly recognized that this church would provide me with the structure and direction that would be important for me to be a good husband and father. Now, over 40 years later, I can look back on my conversion as a gradual but steady improvement in my relationship with our Heavenly Father and the Savior, Jesus Christ. I believe that we are all on a path that leads back to our Heavenly Father and that the Savior's atonement makes it possible for all of to link arms and walk this path together, as family and as friends.

How I live my faith

I serve as the Bishop in a Young Single Adult Ward. In this calling, I am privileged to associate with single adults, ages 18-31. In this assignment, I am able to see on a daily basis the dedication and goodness in the hearts of these special young adults who love the Savior and want to follow him.
