Hi I'm Rick

I'm a Mormon.I grew up in Idaho, a state which is predominantly LDS and didn't know doodely about this church.

About Me

I am a retired airline pilot, grandfather of two young boys and three young girls. I have been to all 50 states, most of the rest of the world and can't wait to see all of it. Walk on two artificial knees, and have so much metal in my body I never fail to set off the magnatometers. I am a widower who spent $24.95 to meet my present wife online. The best money I ever spent. She was a lady who had never been loved and I was a lonely guy who wanted what he had lost when his first wife died. She had been looking all her adult life for a church that was "true" and I was more than happy to teach her about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, because I was once looking for a church that was "true".

Why I am a Mormon

At one point in my life I didn't like myself. I drank too much, smoked too much and didn't like the way I was going. I had the potential to throw away a good education, wonderful career, and a beautiful family. When I realized where I was going I began to actively look for a church. I tried a lot of denominations but they all had terrible faults. I knew a couple of people from my high school days who were Mormons and I looked at their lives. They had what I wanted, a happy family, a good business, true friends, no debt, and respect in their community. I wanted this and knew they got this way by being Mormons and why couldn't I do the same thing. I did, I telephoned a church member I knew and asked if he would take my family to church with his family. He did and I can't possibly tell you how much this changed me and my familys life.

How I live my faith

If you are lucky enough to own a large pleasure boat and you have worked hard to own this boat, and you are proud of this accomplishment, I think you would take great pleasure in sharing this boat with others. I have the greatest job in our church I am the Ward Mission Leader. This means I get to interact with all of our members and full time Missionaries as they share the gospel with others. It is very rewarding to see a total stranger walk into the church and see this person become a friend who loves what has happened to him.
