Hi I'm Jamie

I'm a Mormon. A Wife, a mother and grandmother. Does life get better than this? It does not!

About Me

i am a wife, married to my best friend now for 30+ years, mother of five and grand-mother of seven... and counting! In my 'free' time i like to hike with my husband, play with my grand-kids, and see my grown children as often as possible. Gardening is a passion and a good day is a day with my hands in the dirt helping things grow. When i can't be hiking or gardening a good book about history will always do. My parents joined the church when i was small and have given their 9 daughters a wonderful legacy of faith in action. They are devoted to God as ever and they, as I have a strong testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel. Being a Mormon is the basis for who I am.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and was taught the doctrines of the church. I attended Seminary as a High School student and gained my own testimony of the Gospel during my Sophomore year studying the Book of Mormon. I knew at that point that I had been taught truth. Life offers many opportunities to have questions that i feel are answered in the doctrines of the church. Is God involved with his children on a personal level? My experiences have led me know that He is. He does hear and answer prayers. I feel it answers the purpose of our life here on Earth. It answers what about life after this life. It tells us that we can know our loved ones and still be husband and wife and families.

How I live my faith

I feel that living my faith would be reflected in how I treat others. Am I kind to all? Am I aware of the needs of others and do I seek to be of service when I see a need? I live my faith by sharing my beliefs with my family, friends and neighbors. Serving in my church as a teacher where i can help others build their faith or in some other service capacity is a form of living my faith. Going to the temple on a regular basis is a sacred way for me to live my faith and express my love to my Heavenly Father and Savior. Trying to follow the example of Christ who is the great example of all things and is perfect in all attributes I struggle to do all of the above as I know I am so far from perfect, but I know the Gospel of Jesus Christ as found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints helps and sustains me in my efforts and gives me answers to questions that lead and direct me to feel closer to my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ.
