Hi I'm Lalana

I am a wife. I am a teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in the church. I graduated from college with a teaching degree. I married my wonderful husband shortly after. I enjoy playing musical instruments, singing, cooking, and writing in my journal. I also love to just sit down and watch a good movie with my husband!

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I grew up a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, there was a point in time where I had to decide for myself if it is true, and if you believed that Joseph Smith was a prophet and if the Book of Mormon is true. When I was 12 I wanted to know for myself if what people were teaching me was true. I read the Book of Mormon and prayed. I felt like the Lord was telling me that this was true and that He would bless my life if I dedicated my life to living his gospel. Since then I decided to experiment and test the truth and reality of the gospel. I lived my life following the teachings of the church and have felt such an added power to my life. Anytime I have attempted something hard, or gone through some sort of trial. I felt strongly that the Lord Jesus Christ was there to help lift my burdens. Every time I experimented with a new principle of the gospel it always worked out and I always received blessings from heaven. Once you have received so may witnesses that the gospel is true it just becomes natural to want to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and live your life according to the bounds and promises he has made.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to become the person that I know Heavenly Father wants me to be. I know that He has a plan for us, and loves us deeply. We are his greatest creation and we are here on earth to learn how to become Christ-like. In my everyday life, when faced with a decision that may seem hard, I think "what would Christ do?" It is easier to live the gospel when you know that you have the promised blessings of receiving help and strength when you need it. The church provides me wonderful opportunities to serve people and practice becoming Christ-like. The church helps you learn about what the important things are in life. It helps you gain perspective and see yourself and the eternal being that you really are. A child of God with great potential.
