Hi I'm Matthew

I love life, God, family, computer programming, & writing. I've written a best-selling young adult novel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a family of 7 boys and now have 5 boys myself. My family is now trying to adopt a baby girl, since the odds are not in our favor! I grew up in Utah, Arizona, and Nevada but now live in the hot deserts of Arizona. I'm the director of IT at work and love computer programming and creating websites. For a few years I thought I'd be a professional writer. I even wrote an award-winning and best-selling fantasy novel for kids, but my life was turned upside down when a slew of horrible experiences came my way. I came out on top but have now put the writing carrier on the back burner.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and after all these years my love for the gospel and Jesus Christ has grown even more. I've had so many experiences of spiritual guidance, miracles, and protection in my life that I could never deny the truthfulness of the scriptures and prophetic counsel from church leaders. I know that the teachings of the Mormon church are true and have filled my life with joy and peace. Those same teachings can help you as well.

How I live my faith

Even when I was young I served in the Mormon church, from leading my peers in Sunday school and scouts to assisting the bishop (leader of the congregation). With 5 boys and me being an Eagle Scout, myself, I knew it was inevitable for me to be asked to help the scouts. I've been a Cub Scout leader and am currently the scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts. Lots of camping! When I was 19-years old, I served a 2-year mission to Alabama and helped tons of people, from service projects, to leading the other missionaries, to helping over a dozen people to come into the church. When I got back from my mission I taught at the Missionary Training Center (the place where new missionaries go to learn how to teach and serve) while going to school at Brigham Young University.
