Hi I'm Erin

I grew up in Spokane Washington. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I play the violin as a hobby and work as a Life Skills Specialist for Catholic Charities. I have been married to my husband Devin for 5 years. We have a Jack Russell Terrier named Fletcher who we treat like our baby.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Mormon church since I was 18. I seeked knowledge about the church because I felt like there was something missing in my life, and that something was a stronger relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. When I was growing up I had to see my family members struggle with the horrible temptations of this world such as drug addiction, alcoholism, sex addiction.etc which lead them down the wrong path and affected others who cared about them including me. Growing up in this chaos I had no desire to walk in the path of these family members and I strived to be a good person and stay away from addiction and temptation which was actually pretty hard because of other people's views of what was right and wrong. While growing up I attended regular Christian churches but found little interest in them. There was something missing so I just stopped going entirely. Then I had the opportunity to go to the Mormon church when I was still in high school but turned the missionaries down because my mom and I were homeless at the time and I was embarrassed by it. Once we moved into an apartment the missionaries appeared at my door and invited me to chuch and to study The Book of Mormon with them. I then started to go to the family ward at first with my mom and then to singles ward where I met my husband. Ever since I joined the church I have always had faith that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are real and can bless our lives if we strive to live the commandments. I forgot to mention that I had a baby blessing in the Mormon church when I was born because my mother and father were Mormon while I was little but lost their way. I truly believe that this blessing helped to bring me back to the Mormon church. There have been bad things that have happened within the time that I have been Mormon but now that I know God's love for me I have never had to struggle like I used to becuase of His power.

How I live my faith

I am the assistant Bears leader for the Cub Scouts.
