Hi I'm Denielle

I am a wife, mother, gardener, an accountant, hiker, traveler, love learning, reading, playing, serving,a red head & I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have an amazing life with a eternal mate by my side. We have five energetic, spiritual, funny children that keep us on our toes! I am a full time Mommy. I homeschool all of our children. I know a little sign language. I can lay hardwood floors and tile. I spend most of my day traveling slowly full time, cooking, cleaning, canning, gardening, serving those around me and in my church, budgeting, organizing, napping, & checking computer. I love playing with the children! Some of my favorites are perpetual commotion, Rummikub, Uno, Phase Ten, reading, and Cranium games. We like bike riding, parks, hiking, swimming, beach, and play dates. We are addicted to audio books in the van where ever we go. I am a little crafty but don't have a whole lot of time for it. I am an amature in anything I dabble in. I like to sew, crochet, make cards, hair accessories and banners for holidays. I am very passionate about natural healing and eating. Even though my figure does not show it ;-) I love that God made our bodies and and earth with remedies to heal it. Don't get me wrong I am grateful for modern technology, it saved my oldest child's life when she had a severe case of pneumonia. I am a big advocate for Education. I love hands on learning and learning at your own pace.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church when I was 19 years old. I grew up around an abusive alcoholic environment. I bounced around to different religions to find truth. I took many courses in college to learn about what others believed. I finally came to the conclusion that there was not one right religion & just believed in a Higher Power. I wanted my life to be full of love and kindness with strong family ties. In college I was attend church activities with my best friend for social purposes. While I was attending these events. There was an individual I met and the conversations we would have they were always talking about their strong relationships with their family. Not only their parents, but also their siblings. I wanted that in my life going forward. When I eventually had a family I did not know how to obtain that unity when I did finally settle down. I finally asked them what made their family bond so strong. They immediately told me it was the church that made them a strong family. That intrigue me and I wanted to know more about what these Mormons believed. I started taking lessons from the missionaries just to learn not to join. I occasionally really enjoyed some of the principles that they taught. There were some principles that my red headiness would not let down. At the end of our lessons they asked would I be interested in joining the church. I told them I was not ready that I had already been a member of several other church growing up and if I was to actually join a church that it was not going to be something I did for 2 years or even 20 years, but something I would do for the rest of my life. I went home and I really did want to know if the church was true so I fasted, prayed and read the scriptures. I came across the scripture Mosiah 18:10 it says what do have against being baptized that I might pour out my spirit more abundantly upon you. After reading that passage I felt the most peaceful feeling I had ever experienced. I knew it was true!

How I live my faith

My faith is my life! I cannot separate the two from each other. It is so woven into my actions that I cannot tell where one starts and the other begins. Personally I read my scriptures daily and pray as often as I can. I go to all my church meetings and actively participate. I serve in the Relief Society (women's organization) in my local area. I teach my children about their Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and other scriptures stories or principles every opportunity that I get. I think less about myself or my woes when I am in the service of others. So I try to serve others as often as I can. If I am not serving those outside my home, then I am serving in my home. I try to use the tone with others that I would like them to use with me, not perfect but I never give up! I listen to our modern day Prophet and Apostles and try to apply their teachings in my life. I follow the promptings of the spirit to help me and my family. There have been many times I have received personal revelation to start a new habit with my family and then hear the prophet or apostles tell us to as members of the church to take action on something that we have already instituted. We also have family prayer and scriptures study daily! We tell each other what we are grateful for and who we served that day. We set one night aside, Monday, and that is our family night to teach one another, play, show talents, laugh, bear testimony, and grow our love for one another and for our Savior. We have date night as a couple and with our children solo to help strengthen our relationships. All of these actions are who I am and strengthens my faith. I know that we have a loving Heavenly Father and He sent his son Jesus Christ to earth that we may all live together again. I know that this offers the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and you can get closer to him through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!
