Hi I'm Julie

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to my best friend. We have 4 children together. I am a photographer. I am an artistic person. I love photography, painting, and drawing.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the church. I started to have more questions about life when I became a teenager. I searched for meaning. When I was fifteen-years-old I attended a youth camp. While I was at this camp I felt the Spirit for the first time. I honestly didn't know that was what it was, but I did know that I felt close God. I wanted to have this feeling more often. I would read my Bible, pray often, and go to church. To my frustration I did not have the feeling very often, even at church. I started going to other churches trying to find that feeling of being close to God that I had experienced when I was fifteen. By the time I started college I had gone to just about every church you can think of, EXCEPT The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. One day I was having a conversation with a friend about the purpose of life. This friend had some really good ideas that I felt were true. My friend introduced me to the Church. I attended a church meeting where I listened to Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley speak. As he spoke, I felt that same feeling I had been searching for. I knew that this church was true!

How I live my faith

I live my faith in my home by spending time with my family. We have family prayer and scripture study. Once a week we have Family Home Evening. During Family Home Evening we will have a short scripture lesson, have a special treat, and do something fun together like play games on the Kinect, go swimming, or go to the park. I participate in my church by serving as a scouts leader.
