Hi I'm Will

I am a college student studying the veterinary sciences. I am also an artist, commercial pilot, horseman, oh and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

It took decades to find what was just right around the corner. I am a convert. I am the first member of my family to join the church. I spend most of my week working with a variety of animals. I love riding horses. I enjoy hiking, camping, good times with friends, relaxing in the great outdoors, and being mischievous.

Why I am a Mormon

Like most converts, I felt a strong prompting that this is where I belonged, and I had never felt so welcomed. Everything felt right. In the time leading up to my conversion, I had to know everything about the church! I loved everything I learned and I still have an insatiable appetite for more knowledge. However, in spite of the pure benevolence found in church doctrine, I had yet to discover the answer to something very important to my life and career: the church's viewpoint on animals. It was such a relief to learn that this church teaches all animals have spirits. I never forget our duty of stewardship and the teachings that enrich my daily life with animals and my fellow man. Alma reminds us to pray for our flocks (see Alma 34:20, 34:25). In the Bible, there are many specific acts of compassion towards animals such as: "Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out the corn." (Deut. 25:4) or in Exodus 23:4-5 where we should help even our enemy's beasts of burden, should they collapse under a heavy load. How amazing is it that the lowliest sparrow's existence is important (Luke 12:6) and will not be forgotten? All of these examples have even deeper lessons. Here is a religion that not only embraced and encouraged man's humanity to man, but did not downplay man's humanity to animals. Humanity and Truth. What beautiful principles.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by loving and serving those around me. I think about which of my attributes could be more like the example set by Jesus Christ, and work to improve them. My life is so deeply enhanced by attending church regularly and participating in church activities.
