Hi I'm Kelly

I am a Georgia girl who married my high school sweet heart. I am a teacher, a wife, a mother, and a convert. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Georgia girl that grew up wearing pony tails and playing soft ball. I might look like a girly girl, but deep down, I'll always be a tom boy at heart. I married my best friend and together we have three beautiful girls. I am a teacher and a life long learner. I have a masters degree in learning and behavior disabilities and would love to go back to school again one day.

Why I am a Mormon

When my high school sweet heart left on his mission, I was left heart broken and questioning my own beliefs. I knew I believed in God and in Jesus Christ but how did I know if the Book of Mormon was true? How did I know that I was going to the right church? My curiosity with finding out the truth and trying to understand God's will in my life intensified. I started to study the different denominations of Christianity and how they started. I studied the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I studied God's prophet's and Christ's Church. Everyone in my life had their own opinions about what they thought I should do, but I was desperate to know what God wanted me to do. I decided to read the Book of Mormon cover to cover. If it was true, then I would know the church was true and I would know Joesph Smith was a prophet of God. In my mind, only Heavenly Father knew the real truth. Every night as I read the Book of Mormon and studied the Bible, I pleaded with God to reveal His truth to me. As I read the Book of Mormon, it became so obvious to me, that this was the word of God. The book of Mormon testified of Christ over and over again. God's will for me and my life became very clear. I had no idea what the future held for me, but I did know that I wanted to live the rest of my life as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Joining the church was hands down, the best decision I have made in my life. I was married in the temple to my best friend and we have been blessed with three beautiful little girls. I continually find strength, comfort, and guidance in the scriptures. Life can be hard sometimes and I am so grateful to have the gospel in my life to guide me through the challenging times. I feel closer to Christ now than I ever have in my life and I know its from living the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my Faith daily by the choices I make. It's not always easy trying to do what is right, but its always worth it. Teaching my girls to love reading the scriptures, to love and pray to their Savior, and to make good decisions is my greatest mission in life. I also have the opportunity to serve and to grow through serving in the church. I currently serve in the women's organization making sure that those in need are taken care of. I help organize meals, transportation, etc. to those who are struggling or facing difficult challenges. Serving others in this manner, has helped me to put my own problems into perspective and to even be grateful for my own trials. I have been the most happy in my life while helping others and the church continually gives me opportunities to do this.
