Hi I'm Zach

I am a student and aspire to become an Aerospace Engineer. I work in a rock quarry. I'm LDS.

About Me

I am a student at a community college studying engineering. I enjoy my school work and I like to learn. I work at a rock quarry which pays the bills and keeps me physically active. I enjoy playing the guitar and playing sports with friends. I come from a big family of 8 sibilings of which I am the 6th. I have learned a lot from the examples of my older brothers and sister. I love my family and I consider family to be very important. I have served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Quito Ecuador Mission. It was extremely difficult at times, but it was also extremely beneficial to me. I beleive that I got more out of it than I put into it. It has changed my life for the better.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a child regularly attending and worshipping in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, guided by my parents. I beleived and trusted my parents while I was younger, but as I grew older I was encouraged to find out for myself what was true or not. I was taught that God loves me and that I could communicate with him through prayer and he would answer my prayers. The scriptures teach that through the Spirit of God we can learn the truth of God and the way He would have us live in order to return to live with Him after this life. There is a promise in the Book of Mormon that states if we have true intent to follow God and a sincere heart to learn the truth and that if we have faith in God, we can ask for knowledge of whats right and guidance of what path to follow that we will recieve an answer through the Holy Ghost to know the truth. Well, that's easier said then done, but with enough effort, or faith, that promise will be kept of which I am a witness. Through study and prayer and living the teaching I have learned, I have come to know through the Holy Ghost that Jesus is the Christ, that it is through him that we can recieve salvation and return to our Heavely Father. I have also learned that the Book of Mormon is true inspired scripture of God, along with the Bible, where it has been translated correctly. I know that God calls prophets on the Earth today for our benefit and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ's kingdom here on the earth. It really is His church. This I know and share in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I actively participate in a congregation of young single adults, or a singles branch as we sometimes refer to it. I am in charge of the classroom instruction for the men, overseeing who teaches and making sure the lessons go well, often teaching myself. I have had various responsibilities or callings during my time as a member all of which help me to serve and learn and grow in the Gospel. I am grateful for my calling and the ability to serve as these help me stay strong and focused on what's right.
