Hi I'm Richard Robert Toomer

I have been married for 45 years. I love to work with people and teach child nutrition classes. I am retired, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Southern Alberta Canada. I went to BYU for 4 years before starting my career in Food Services. I have lived in every western State but Colorado. I am married and have been so with the same sweet wife for45 years. I was a Scout Master for 18 year and helped 45 boys get their Eagle Scout Award. I started as a child to love sports by listening games on the Radio. Hockey Night in Canada was always a favorite. Many nights I would huddle around the Radio and listen to My cousin playing college basketball. He was my hero. I am retired after 48 year of working in the Hospitality Industry. The last 20 years I have worked in Child Nutrition helping our young people eat healthier food. I am now living in Prescott Arizona. I learned how to make quilts by working with my mother at a young age. I make quilts from crib size to king size beds. Some I tie some I hand stitch and I am a Mormon

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized in the the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints at the age of 8 years old. Most of the people in our community belonged to the church. I gained a testimony of the truthfulness of the Church when I was blessed to work with the Navajo and Pueblo Indians of the Southwest. I have read the Book of Mormon several times and know that it is a second witness of Jesus Christ. I know that if I live a good life and keep the covenants that I have made with the Lord I will be able to be with my family forever. I know that one of the secrets to life and the gospel is to serve others

How I live my faith

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints and am a member of the Bradshaw ward in Prescott, Arizona. I serve my Father in Heaven by serving at the Mesa Temple each each Thursday. It is a 125 miles down to the temple each way but I love to serve others and help them receive spiritual blessing. I research information about my ancestors by doing Family History. My Ancestors came from England and Sweden. I volunteer each week to do indexing the the Family History Program of the the Church, taking records from Census records and entering them in a Data base so that others my be able to find out about their family
