Hi I'm Joe

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a little over 60 years old, I own a Real Estate Co. in the suburbs of Phoenix. I have been a Cowboy, a construction worker, a livestock feeder, a restaurant and bar owner, auctioneer, and other various professions in my life. Having tried everything I finally decided to become a real estate salesman, and after a few years opened my own company and it has been very successful. I am married I have three sons, one of them has passed on. I also have two granddaughters with another on the way.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized when I was 9 years old, along with my mother, and two brothers. Because my father was an atheist, he never joined the church, and probably because of that I only went to church about 10 times, and was not raised as a Mormon. I met and married a very wonderful woman who was raised in an all denominational type of religion, who tried to get me to go to various churches, I did a few times to make her happy but never really got interested in any of them. My wife was baptized by a Baptist preacher in a creek in Colorado. At one point we had attended a Baptist church in Colorado, the Preacher told me I needed to get baptized again because being baptized as a Mormon didn't count. A few years later when my wife was investigating the Mormon church, It got interesting when they told her she had to get baptized because hers didn't count. When my two sons were about 8 years old and were interested in going to church, I made a decision to go back to church, so that they could be raised in the church. My wife went to church with us, but did not become a member for approximately another 10 years. I now have come to know and understand that the Mormon church is the only true church on the earth today, and all things must be done with proper authority from Jesus Christ. If you believe in the Bible, why would God give people on the earth Prophets in the days before Christ but not in the terrible conditions we live under today? I understand why God removed the Priesthood from the earth during the dark ages, and I know it was restored to the Earth by Joseph Smith. I hold the Melchizedek Priesthood and I know that I can act for God if it is his will. When I look back over my life and remember what it was like before I became active in the church again, there is no comparison. An argument may be made that the Church of Jesus Christ may be better with out me in it, but there can be no argument made that my life would be better with out the Church of Jesus Christ in mine.

How I live my faith

I try to live a Christ like life to the best of my ability. I attend as many church meetings as possible. I try to do my church callings to the best of my ability. I try to serve those around me as best I can. I attend the Temple as often as I can. I read the Scriptures as often as possible and have prayer with my Wife morning and night. Whether we want to be or not we are an example, I try to be the best that I can be, honest, reliable, at all times be the best. I have pictures in the public areas of my office of the title of Liberty and the golden plates.
