Hi I'm Keenan

I'm a Mormon. I live in Surprise, Arizona, and I am going to school for Bio-Engineering.

About Me

I love hanging out with my family. I am the youngest of five. I live near my oldest sister, so I get to see her and her kids often. Currently going to school for Bio-Engineering. I hope to be able to help make synthetic organs some day. Being with friends is one of the best things in my week. I love being social. I want to get into rock climbing and water sports. I used to do some when I was in my youth, and want to do it again. My faith is a main part of my life. I view things all in its light.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. My family has always been a real good support for me. However, I reached an age and time when I really wanted to know for myself if the gospel was true. I remember reading and praying about the Book of Mormon. I really wanted to know. It was important to me. After a while I understood that I did know the gospel and the church was true, because of the feelings that I have when I share with others what I believe. I know God lives, and loves me, and all of his children. I know Jesus is the Christ, and our Redeemer. That without his atonement we would be stuck in this state of life. Only through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints can we receive the saving ordinances of the gospel. I know families can be together forever. Not just in this life, but in the next and on, through the blessings of the temple. I know the joy that comes from being worthy to have the Holy Ghost as a constant companion. I know that Joseph Smith restored the church that was lost after Jesus and his apostles were killed. I know that without the authority to use the Priesthood, and act in the name of God, (that was restored by Peter James and John to Joseph Smith) that we would not be able to have the blessings we can because of it. I know the Book of Mormon is true. That it was written by ancient prophets that lived in the America's before us. They knew of Christ and saw him. I know the power that comes from reading the scriptures. I have a strong knowledge of prayer, and the love and answers that come from my loving father above. I know all I have comes from, and through, the grace and love of my Father in Heaven and my Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ. I love my faith in my religion. I wouldn't be who I am without it.

How I live my faith

The way I live my faith is mostly by example. I always let people know I am a member of the church. It is a good way for them to understand why I do certain things, and why I don't do others. It is always a conversation starter, and a chance for me to share. I love being asked about the church. I am always willing to talk. I currently help out in my ward as a person who calls to check and see if the families in our ward are being home taught by the men. We have two men called as home teachers, assigned to different families, and I call to see if they visited and to check and see if the families need any help from us. It is cool to see how much service that happens and the love and closeness it creates between members.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Keenan
Having a faith in our Savior, helps us in every aspect of our lives, especially our relationships. As for me, I am not married, but I have seen others who have the blessing of marriage in their lives. With having a love and understanding of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we are able to better appreciate each other. We see each other in a different, more splendid light. Though Christ's restored church, we now have the opportunity to be sealed to our spouses, and families, for time and all eternity. We also have to guidance of the Holy Ghost, that helps us in times where we may be in conflict with our loved ones. This helps us to soften our hearts and learn to understand each other better, and grow closer. I know for myself, that having a strong faith in Christ helps me to have a deep love for my friends and family. I yearn for us to be close to each other and for us to, more importantly, be close to God. Being close to God makes this difficult life so much easier to live. I am not saying that we never have hard times and sadness, but that with Christ by our side, we can be lifted up in those trials that we go through. He makes it possible to see the beauty of this world and the beauty of those around us. If we look for the influence that Christ has had in the lives of our loved ones, we love so much more. We start to truly see how his hand is in everything. Show more Show less
