Hi I'm Chantel

I'm going to school, I'm a single mother, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a single mother and a full-time student. I'm in school to be an ultrasound technologist. I love to play the piano, I love my child, I love my cats, and I love learning.

Why I am a Mormon

For a while after the divorce I was absolutely determined not to be a Mormon. After all, what had the Church done for me? But there was always this feeling in the background that kept nagging at me until I started to listen. I got my Book of Mormon out, skeptical about reading it, and figured it wouldn't hurt. I figured that once I started reading it the feeling would go away. Half way through the Book of Mormon I knew that I had to get back. Something was literally missing from my life, and I finally admitted this was it. I also realized that I loved the Church for its doctrine - and that no matter who else was a Mormon, no matter how they treated me, I wasn't a Member for the people.

How I live my faith

My calling is to play the piano for the Primary kids - that's where all the kids ages 3-11 go to learn. I have to say it's the best calling EVER and it's one of the main reasons I get up every Sunday and get to Church. Having early Church for a year is really hard for me, I'm always so tired and I always have been. But I feel better after going. I'm glad I have a calling that makes me WANT to get up and go. I can't wait to see what the future brings, but I do know that for me and my child, the Church will be a part of our lives.
