Hi I'm CJ Brown

I was born and raised in Arizona, went to ASU. I'm in dental school right now, have a wonderful wife and 3 kids and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm attending dental school right now and feel like a professional student. I have a wonderful wife and 3 awesome children that support me through school; I couldn't do it without them. I love playing sports to stay active, it's about the only exercise I get because life is always so crazy. I enjoy the company of friends and love watching movies with my wife. I enjoy volunteering my time to help other people. it makes me feel good and feel like a part of something bigger.

Why I am a Mormon

I guess I've always been a Mormon and it has made me happy throughout my life. The foundation of my faith is Jesus Christ. I know that it is through him that all things are made possible. I know that our Father in Heaven has a plan for us and that Jesus is at the center of that plan. He is our Savior and has redeemed all mankind. If we want to be happy in this life we can follow what he has said. I know that today the Lord speaks through a prophet and apostles as he has in ancient times. I know if we follow his teachings we can spend eternity with Him and our Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

My wife and I have taught Sunday School to youth in their early teens and more recently to the young 3-4 year olds. Teaching these children simple truths of the gospel is very rewarding. It's nice to cover the basics of our Heavenly Father's plan, that he loves us and wants us to return to him. When we had our third child, we were released from this responsibility to be able to make sure we could focus on our family at that time. Recently I have been asked to help see over all the Sunday School classes. I also have two families in the congregation that a partner and I are to visit monthly and see to it that they're doing well. There are also members of the congregation that are assigned to watch over my family and I. This helps us all to feel like a great family of brothers and sisters in the Lord.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

CJ Brown
We believe that it is only through Jesus Christ that we can be saved. It is through the grace of the Father that the Son (Jesus) was able to pay the price for our sins. When we sin we suffer spiritual death, which is separation from God. When we suffer physical death our spirits and bodies separate. Because of this grace we can be reconciled physically and spiritually and be perfected in Christ so that we can live with our Father in Heaven. Christ has done his part, and our part is to keep the commandments and do all that the Father has asked. We cannot save ourselves by doing our part or even doing good works, we need Jesus Christ. Ultimately it is by grace that we are saved after all that we can do, we can only make it so far without the Savior. We have the freedom to choose God and his plan of happiness or we can follow satan and be miserable. Show more Show less
