Hi I'm Donn

I live in Arizona. I just started another career. I like playing tennis. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Chihuahua, Mexico, where I learned to speak both English and Spanish. I have a loving and beautiful wife and five wonderful kids, one who is deceased but we consider her ours forever. I am also "Papa" to four super grandkids, with another on the way. I've been through several careers. I began with a degree in Architectural Design and worked at that for 8 years before joining my four brothers in a commercial concrete subcontracting business for the last 25 years. I just recently started another business in carpet cleaning and home maintenance. My favorite thing to do is spend time with my wife. I also enjoy when our family gets together for some delicious food prepared by my better half and spending time visiting and playing together. (Usually in the pool during the hot Arizona Summers.) I have fun playing tennis. I switched from playing right to left handed after cutting my thumb and 3 fingers off down to the 2nd joints. I enjoy watching sports, especially basketball and tennis. I also like watching good movies, especially ones based on true life experiences.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all my life but I had to come to know for myself that this is the true Church of Jesus Christ. I came to this knowledge through much prayer, pondering, study and lifes experiences. It has been a great strength and guide for me as I have faced challenges and made important choices. It has given me purpose, meaning and peace in my life, knowing that this life isn't the end, and that we go on living after death. That is why I know that our daughter will be apart of our family for eternity. The thing that I am most grateful for is Jesus Christ. I am grateful for his love, for giving me the gift of repentance, for giving His life for me and being an example for me to follow.

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities to serve in the church as we have moved around the country. I have enjoyed working with the youth and being a Scoutmaster. I am currently serving with my wife in the churches addiction recovery program. I love this calling and being able to see the change people are able to make in their lives as they use the Atonement of Jesus Christ to overcome their addictions and be restored to physical and spiritual health. I also go hometeaching with my son as my companion. This is where we have the opportunity to watch over several families and visit them regularly to make sure they are doing ok. I have had that opportunity with each of my 3 sons. It has been a blessing to be able to serve with them. I make mistakes everyday but I continue to do the best I can. I rely on Jesus Christ's help to make up the difference on my shortcomings. I try to serve and treat others with kindness. I know that we are all sons and daughters of God who is our Heavenly Father and that He loves each of His children. I know things will work out if I do my best and trust in God.
