Hi I'm Ricky van Neck

I've grown up in Mesa, Arizona my entire life. I enjoy singing and baking cakes, sometimes at the same time. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am twenty years old and currently serving as a missionary in the country of Honduras. I enjoy outdoor activities, mountain biking, singing, baking and decorating cakes. I have had the opportunity to be apart of the All-state choir for Arizona, as well as sing in Carnegie Hall, and work with performers from Broadway. I enjoy singing and making cakes most of all. I make all sorts of different shapes and flavors. I sing all the time, whether it be during work, while I'm studying my scriptures, or even if I'm just walking through town. I enjoy meeting all sorts of new people from around the world and right here at home.

Why I am a Mormon

I wasn't always a Mormon. I was born outside of the church and neither of my parents had a religion at the time. When I was 6, my mom took me to an LDS Church in our area. At the same time, however, My dad became a member of the Baha'i church. I attended both of these churches until I turned 11. That is when I decided that I would take the missionary discussions and choose to be baptized. I still live in a split religion house, but we respect each others religions and support it. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this church, and for the friends I've made while in it. I have a firm testimony of the gospel and all of it's teachings. I love my family with all of my heart and I know with an assurance that the Book of Mormon is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being the best I can personally be, and helping others rise to their best as well. I try to be an example in all that I do and say and I am not afraid to express my values.
