Hi I'm Alex

I am a brother and a son. I like to help others and I love being a Mormon!

About Me

Some of my favorite hobbies are reading, spending time walking my dog and even occasionally playing a video game. I love the great out doors and spending time in parks, forests and grassy fields. Most of all I love my family a lot! I have one sibling, an older brother who is going to college. I have enjoyed spending time with him and my family while watching movies and playing wholesome video, board, and card games. I as a young man I played trumpet in the marching band and loved it. I also really enjoyed playing in concert band and hanging out with my friends. Now I often find that my trumpet is getting a little dusty but I am okay with that because I am happily serving the people of the USA's North-East coast. I go among the people of Pennsylvanian, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland helping others to live an enjoyable and rewarding life by talking about Jesus Christ. Doing so has brought joy and peace into my own life! It is for this reason that I love my life so much. I soon plan on going to college. I am considering a degree in engineering. In high school I was also able to enjoy a trip to Northern Ireland thanks to a foreign exchange program. I LOVE Northern Ireland and think it is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. I love the culture of and the people. While in Northern Ireland I had a time visiting sites and being around friends even though I didn't have any alcohol. (I am proud of that). I hope to go back there to visit someday.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because praying has worked for me. Let me explain... I know that God, our Heavenly Father, hears and answers our prayers. He answers my prayers. He knows each and every individual and He loves us all so much. I know while Jesus, The Son of God, was here He performed many great miracles and did as Heavenly Father commanded Him. I know that Jesus Christ paid for our sins so that we all may live in Heaven with our Father in Heaven if we follow Jesus and do what He would truly have us do. I know that Jesus Christ was resurrected and overcame death. I know that Christ Himself died so that through Him we may all be over come death also. I know all of this because as I ask God through prayer if this did all happen God sends the Holy Spirit to touch my heart. Because I know all this I want to follow Jesus Christ and do what He wants me to do. I learn what He wants me to do at church. I truly know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the same church Jesus Christ's organized. Jesus leads everything that this church does. I know this because I have studied the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon is not meant to replace the Bible nor is it a "Mormon version of the Bible" but instead the Book of Mormon, like the Bible, witnesses that Jesus is the Christ. The Book of Mormon and is what we must study and read for ourselves to know if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is truly the church that God supports and leads. I have prayed and asked God if the Book of Mormon is His word. In response to my prayer I feel a divine sense of great peace every time I read the Book of Mormon. In a similar fashion I also know the Bible to be the word of God. I truly know that Jesus Christ leads and guides us today.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading the holy scriptures daily and attending church every Sunday. As I read the word of God I can feel His influence more in my life. As I attend church I am able to partake of the Sacrament, or Communion as it is also called, and remember Jesus Christ. I remember how Jesus Christ has suffered and died so that we can all go to heaven if we but follow Him. I also love to go to church so that I can be strengthened by people who have good morals and standards. I in-turn strengthen them also. I live my faith by talking with others about who Jesus Christ is and how I have been blessed by God and Jesus. I do not try to convince others but instead try to help them strengthen the relationship that they already have with God and His Son Jesus Christ. I love to share my personal experiences with others. I love to strengthen them by sharing the ways I have seen God's hand in my own life. I believe we are all children of God and we all need God more in our lives.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Alex
In order to increase our faith in Jesus Christ we need to get to know Him and know His commandments. A great way to do this is by reading the scriptures. Both the Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon are filled with the teachings of Christ. They help us learn more and more about Him. As we do this we must then act upon our newly gained knowledge and obey His commadments. As we do this we will be bless and will come to know that Christ does live and loves us. We will know that he does know of us and our needs. We will come to know that we can rely on Him for support through trials. As we gain this knowledge our faith in Christ is increased. Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Alex
Well we believe that Jesus Christ and God, our Heavenly Father, love us just as much today as they did back in the time of the New Testament. In the Bible we read the accounts of Jesus Christ and His apostles. We see that it was a great blessing to Israel to have the apostles and other servants of Christ around. God wants to bless us just as much today as He did back then. We believe Jesus Christ wanted additional apostles to replace those who passed away or became sinful. Paul is a good example of an apostle that this happened to because he was appointed to be an apostle even after Christ's resurrection. We also believe that we should have the same sort of organization as what existed in Christ's church in the scriptures. That means that our church needs to have prophets, apostles, and other such positions. Show more Show less
