Hi I'm Andrew

I'm a filmmaker. I'm a gamer. I'm a prospective MBA student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Last year, I received my bachelors degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Marketing. I am married to the most amazing woman and we love to travel and explore new places. We are blessed to have a great dog named Toby who is high maintenance but he is perfect for us (not that we are high maintenance). When I am not working, playing Nintendo (specifically The Legend of Zelda), rock climbing, or playing the guitar I love to make movies. I am hoping to be the next Tim Burton. I am currently studying for the GMAT to get my MBA and I have a deep fear and interest for sharks. I never miss an episode of shark week and look forward to it every year. I am a little nerdy but that never hurt anybody. To further my nerdiness I love to read science fiction and fantasy novels, but I haven't started LARPing yet, to my wife's relief. Even though I am pursuing a career in marketing my dream is to direct movies for a living. I am always working on my own independent films. My most recent project is a short called Glenmare Drive, to be available soon on youtube. My new hobby is learning to spin fire. I am practicing with glow poi for now but I have spun fire once and loved it. I consider myself a quirky yet fun person. My wife and I love to experience new things and learn new skills (spinning fire). I guess that is me in a nutshell.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up going to the Mormon church or as it is officially called The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was baptized into the church at age 8 and as a kid I went to primary and learned about Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. I learned about their plan for me. I learned about Joseph Smith and how through him, Heavenly Father restored his church back to earth for us. I learned about the Book of Mormon and how the fullness of the gospel is covered in its pages. By the time I was 17 I began to ask myself the question that every member of the Mormon church must ask themselves. Do I really believe that this is the true church? Was Joseph Smith really a prophet? Or am I a member of the church because that's how I was raised? In the Book of Mormon there is a promise that says if I prayed with a sincere heart and with real intent having faith in Christ the truth would be made known to me through the Holy Ghost. Wanting to know for myself I decided to accept the promise in the Book of Mormon. One night I knelt down on my knees and poured my soul out to God. I asked for a confirmation about what I had learned my entire life. A profound feeling came over me. In that moment God answered my prayer. I knew that the Book of Mormon was true. I knew that Joseph Smith was a true prophet. I knew that Jesus Christ was real and he died to save us all. I knew that Heavenly Father actually knew me and loved me. When my life has challenges I remember that night and use it to give me strength. These are some of the reasons why I am a Mormon but mostly, I am a Mormon because I choose to be.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be a good person. I attend my church meetings and fulfill my callings. For the church I have been an auditor, youth basketball coach, and assistant scout master. On my own time I read from the scriptures including the Bible and Book of Mormon and try to apply the teachings from Paul to Nephi into my daily life. I take the lessons from the scriptures and try to be a better husband and person. I live my faith everyday while I go about my life working, spending time with my family, rock climbing, and everything else I do.
