Hi I'm Monique

I'm a stay at home mom to three children, I like to run, I LOVE to clean, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for seven years and have two boys and an 8 week old baby girl. I met my husband while attending BYU-Idaho where I graduated with a degree in History and Political Science. I have chosen to stay at home with my children and am blessed that I am able to do that. I am now 29, I like to play the piano, scrapbook, listen to music, and go running. But I spend most of my time taking care of our children, keeping up our home, running errands and just making sure things are running smoothly for our family. It may sound boring and uneventful, but I love spending time with my children and being able to watch them grow and learn new things. I am fortunate enough to have two loving parents that have welcomed my family into their home while we rent out our own house. We live in the same area as three of my sisters and their families and I really enjoy getting to spend so much time with them. My sisters are very important to me and I consider them my very best friends. My children love playing with their cousins and they are all becoming best friends as well. I love knowing that I am taking care of my family the best that I can, teaching my children how to be good responsible people, and being a supportive wife; that's good enough for me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family and grew up attending church every Sunday but I still needed to find out for myself that the teachings of the church are true. After high school I went to BYU-Idaho and while I was there I realized that I had just been going through the motions and had not taken the time to find out what being a Mormon really meant. As I graduated college and got married, I had many experiences that helped confirm my belief in my Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ. I have felt them guide me through difficult decisions that I have made and I know for certain that they know who I am, love me, and want me to return to live with them one day. I am here on this earth to learn as much as I can, raise my family in a way that is pleasing to my Father in Heaven, and help other people come to the knowledge that I have of our church. I know that when I am doing the things that Jesus Christ taught in the scriptures that we should do, I am happier and I am being a good example to those around me, including my children. I love being a Mormon and living this way has truly blessed my life.

How I live my faith

I am currently the pianist for music time on Sundays with the children in my ward. The children ages 3-11 attend primary on Sundays which is a time for them to hear a lesson about the gospel, sing, and attend a class with their specific age group. I love the opportunity to play the piano since I don't do it too much at home, and it strengthens my testimony of the gospel as I listen to the children sing the beautiful songs about the church. Having children sit and listen to people talk for a couple of hours at church on Sunday is very hard for them to do, so having a time for music helps them learn the gospel of Jesus Christ in a different way. I am grateful that I can be a part of that and I love being able to watch my own son learn and sing the songs with all the other children.
