Hi I'm Cathy Bussey

I am a wife, a mother, and a friend. I love life and face each day as a new adventure. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love running, hiking, water and snow skiing, or any activity that gets me outdoors. One of my passions is being with people from all walks of life. I enjoy traveling anywhere new. I am married to a wonderful man who supports me in making my dreams become realities. I feel blessed to be a mother of 3 - a married son, a married daughter and a young adult son who came to our family at age two through an adoption from Russia. I volunteer regularly at church and various community events. I am happiest when I am helping others, laughing and having fun with those I love!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it makes me happy. I was born to a family with wonderful parents who raised me in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They taught me of the values and truths of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. At a young age I came to know that I am a Child of God. That knowledge has helped me believe in myself. Through experiences in my childhood years I learned to trust in the plan and teachings of my religion. When growing up I had a younger brother and sister pass from this life. During these and other times of challenge I had to dig deep and find out if what I believed was really true. Over the years I have come to know that it is and that I have a Father in Heaven who knows and loves me. Because he loves each of His children He sent His Son - Jesus Christ to live and die for us. I know that is through Him and His atonement that the plan for my life will continue after I pass from this earth. I know that I will live again in their presence and with those I love. As I live the teachings of Jesus Christ it gives me direction and purpose that brings true happiness and joy. It allows me to wake up every day with hope and a desire to live life to the fullest!

How I live my faith

My motto in life has become - "Live well, laugh often, love much". I strive each day to do just that. I do what I can to live well and in a way that will make a difference in my life and the lives of others. I try to focus on doing things that uplift and help those around me smile and laugh. I believe that life is short and we must strive to make every day count. Most of all I try to love much. I believe love is the thing that brings lasting happiness. It is through loving and serving that we can do the most good. I start each morning by asking the Lord - "Who and how can I best help today? I have been given so much that I feel I must give back in return. Because of that I try to faithfully serve in many areas. I have learned so much over the years by accepting opportunities in church to serve in various capacities such as working with our children's group as a teacher and music chorister, in our youth group as a leader, and in various duties in our women's organization. Each have blessed my life and have taught me more of love. Each day I try to carry these lessons forward in helping my family, friends and community in hope of somehow making a difference in the world.
