Hi I'm Charlon

I have six awesome kids. I love to sing. I really love Italian food. I love to dance. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in Arizona most of my life. I love it here! I was fortunate enough to marry my high school sweetheart and have six beautiful children. We are surrounded by all of our family and enjoy spending time together. I love photography, singing, and traveling with our children. Most of our adventures are our family vacations that include Yellowstone, camping on the beach, or just camping for the night. We love hanging out at home Friday nights with movies and popcorn. I love to sing! It is my passion in life. I also love to dance. I love the quote " Dance like nobody is watching". I am really good at having fun and being a little crazy. My kids don't quite appreciate it yet but they will. Especially when they find themselves doing the same exact things to embarrass their own children someday. Life is short....enjoy it!!

Why I am a Mormon

I wasn't born a Mormon. My father was Mormon growing up but didn't attend church. He met my mom in high school and didn't mind that she was Catholic. After they had been married some Mormon missionaries decided to pay them a visit. My mom didn't mind talking to them because she knew my dad had been Mormon and they were the same age as her and my dad. After a while they were able to answer some questions that she had and they challenged her to read a few scriptures out of the Book of Mormon. Instead she took the book and read it cover to cover in a week. She prayed and instantly knew it was true. After that she had to tell her parents who were very devout Catholics that she was going to get baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It has been almost 40 years from that day and they still do not understand her decision. I can tell you that my life has never been the same. I do not dare to imagine what my life would have been like if she had not made the decision to be baptized that day. I am grateful everyday that I have the gospel in my life. The gospel has provided a way for me to understand the reason that we are on the earth. We are here to gain knowledge and go through trials and adversity to make us stronger. We are here to exercise faith and obedience to simple commandments that our Heavenly Father has given us. I have had the opportunity to make promises in the temple and be married for all eternity to a wonderful husband who shares the same goals in life that I do. I am now blessed to instill those same beautiful lessons in life to my dear children. It was no accident that my mom was baptized those many years ago so that I could be here right now doing this very thing. Everything I am I owe to my mother, and a loving Heavenly Father who loves me and wants me to be happy.

How I live my faith

It is a beautiful thing in life to be anxiously engaged in a good thing! I am so grateful for church responsibilities that offer friendship and wholesome activities for me and my family. I recently was involved in a play that centered around the 10 virgin parable. It was an amazing opportunity to sing and to feel the spirit of the Savior convey the beauty of his message. I am currently a activity day leader for girls ages 10 and 11. Every week we get together and cook, create, learn, and share. We are providing skills and opportunities even at this age that can benefit these young girls that are the mothers and leaders of tomorrow. I really love to teach. I love to volunteer at my children' s classrooms and even substitute for the seminary program at the high school. I feel blessed to know that we have programs in place that help us to be accountable for each other. We know the needs of those around us and can help each other as the Savior would do if he were here. The more I focus on things that are uplifting and wonderful in the world the less time I worry about things that just don't matter. I love knowing that the things that the world has to offer me aren't going to last. My relationship with God and my family are what I hold dear.
