Hi I'm Jill Kocher

I'm from Kentucky. I love playing volleyball. I love to teach and serve and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

To be active and to run has always been apart of my life and playing volleyball has become a new found love of mine. I'm finishing up my last year at BYU to become an early childhood teacher. There's nothin' like teaching a child who just loves and embraces your words. I returned from serving a mission for the Lord in Mississippi in Dec. 2013. Then in August I got married in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple where I was sealed to my husband for time and all eternity. What a great blessing of the gospel! I love my family with all of my heart. I have grown so close to them through all of our trials, and this gospel has only brought us closer together.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 4, my 2 year old sister passed away. It was the hardest trial my family has ever been through but with knowledge of this gospel I know that I will be with her again. I know that I will be with my family forever. I also have a sister who was adopted and even though she wasn't born into our family I also know that she will be apart of my family in the next life. Through all my trials I have been able to rely on the Atoning sacrifice of my Savior and I love him.

How I live my faith

I love to serve people. Every moment that I get I try to help. I've had the privilege to travel to Ecuador to work in a few different orphanages. The light of Christ is in every child and they touched my life more than I could ever help them. I had the privilege to serve a mission for the Lord for 18 months in Mississippi and Louisiana. What a wonderful experience and I was able to meet so many people who changed my life. Something I've learned about service is that you always benefit more when you give it than when you receive it. I love the example our Savior gives of constant service. He didn't care who it was or what their needs were but He always found a way to serve. I will always try to be more like Him.
