Hi I'm Paul Alfred Smith

I'm a retired U.S. Army Veteran. I'm a Mormon. We teach each other. We love God and each other! Life has a purpose!

About Me

I served in the Army for 21 years, 9 months, and 3 days. I love my country. I love freedom. I love what our Constitution stands for. And I love the restored gospel of Jesus Christ with all my heart.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised Pentecostal. My father was a Pentecostal minister. I was the typical preacher son and rejected everything that he tried to teach me. I spent roughly 22 years in the Army and attended military Protestant chapel services mostly. After retiring my wife was looking for a church home for our children. She began to investigate the LDS Church because of the youth programs she had heard about. She finally convinced me that we should listen to the missionaries. I found that after reading the Book of Mormon that it made a lot of sense to me. It answered lots of questions that I had about the purpose of life, where we came from, and where we should be striving to go. The more I read that book and the more I found about the Church my heart became softened and I had a desire to join. A decision that I have never regretted making. I'm still learning at my young age of 83. There is so much to learn about our Heavenly Father's plan of happiness. I feel I need a couple hundred more years to learn and obey His commandments. I love this Church. I love my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I love my Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I am a ward missionary and I love sharing what I know to be true with others. I have found that most people are good people. What they don't know is that with the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ they could be even better. As we learn and obey we are given more truth and we become more fulfilled and closer to God. Before I joined the church I had read many times about the commandment "Be ye therefore perfect; even as your Father in Heaven is perfect." but I had no answers on how to obtain that. I have found, from the teachings of the restored gospel, that we all have unlimited potential. As our Father is so we can become. That is the truth about the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. To my knowledge no other denomination teaches this truth.
