Hi I'm Julene

I'm am a new nurse, hoping to impact the lives of children with cancer. I love running, hiking, mountain biking, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As a college student, my life consists mainly of school work, and friendships. Though school is very important to me, I try to take a lot of time to, well, have fun! I like to bike, hike, swim, and just generally hang out with my friends as much as I can. Being 23, I have a lot of dreams for the future that I can't quite fulfill right now. I am very into Humanitarian work, and wish more than anything I could travel the world and help people. I also have a very soft spot for children and families affected by cancer, and hope to start a non-profit organization to help them out in the near future. For now, though, I am focusing on my friends, family, education, and having as much fun as possible while I'm young! Currently I am married to the love of my life, preparing to start our own little family. The principles taught in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints helps us to prepare to do so! This church focuses on the importance of families so very much.

Why I am a Mormon

Some might say that they are a member of this church because they were born into it, and though that is true for me, it is not the reason I still go to church on my own every week. My parents are supportive of me no mater what, and they wouldn't make me go to church or force a testimony of this gospel onto me either. I found for myself that this gospel is the only true way I can be happy. And this happiness isn't just temporal, it is eternal. If you ask any of my friends about me, they will tell you how important family is to me. I honestly do not think I could survive this life without them. I also do not think I could be happy in our next life, in heaven, without them either. And that is one of the main reasons I am a Mormon. Because of the atonement my brother Jesus gave me (and you) I can be with my family forever and ever, if I have faith in Him, keep my covenants, and endure to the end. That's part of the reason why... I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Being a Mormon is one of the biggest parts of my life. Because of my ward, I have so many amazing people around me, who love and support me. Because of my ward, I have opportunities so serve and to teach others. This last January I was given the calling of being a Family History Consultant. This is a calling that is very near, and dear to my heart, as Family History is so important to me. It is not only important to me that my immediate family can be happy for all eternity, but my ancestors too! In addition to doing ordinances for my past ancestors, I have also been able to learn from them, and through my calling help others learn from their own ancestors. I love my calling! Outside of my ward, I try my best to live my faith through every action I make. I want others to be able to see that I am a follower of Christ, and that they can come to me for help. I try to help others, and simply love others, because that's what Christ wants me, and all of us, to do. Through the scriptures I learn of His example, and how lucky I am to have the opportunity to be here on earth to follow it. Being Mormon doesn't just mean I am busy every Sunday, and Tuesday when I have church meetings and institute, it means I need to try my best to be a disciple of Christ at all time. And there is nothing in the world that could make me happier!
